If the eye doctor uncovers a problem in the complete eye exam, then treatment is required to ensure your child is able to reach his/her best vision health.
Treatment can include glasses, eye patches, eye drops, or sometimes surgery. Children with vision loss may need other support services.

It is important that you obtain glasses, or other treatment recommended by your child’s doctor. Since 80% of a child’s learning is through his/her eyes, uncorrected vision problems can lead to:
- Lower early literacy performance
- Lower pre-reading skills in preschool and kindergarten
- Negative impacts on health and well-being in adulthood
- Permanent vision loss
