Improving the vision
health of Arizona’s
children
1 in 4 school-age children have a vision problem that may affect their ability to learn.
Eyes On Learning is a coalition of state, local, and national organizations dedicated to ensuring that Arizona children with vision problems are identified early, through regular vision screenings, and get the eye exams and follow-up treatment they need.

The Path to Healthy Vision
-
Vision Screening
-
Eye Exam
-
Treatment
- Vision screening for the first time as early as age 1
- Then at least once between ages 3-5
- And every year or two throughout grade school
- Full eye exam by a professional eye doctor (optometrist or ophthalmologist)
- If vision screening detects a potential problem
- If parent/caregiver suspects a problem
- Most common childhood vision problems can usually be corrected with glasses, eye drops, or other treatments prescribed by a doctor.
