In 2015 Karen Woodhouse was appointed as the Eyes On Learning Director, to help strengthen and expand the statewide initiative. Ms. Woodhouse, an early childhood development expert, previously served as Chief Program Officer at First Things First, where she led the division working to improve early childhood systems, including preventative screening for developmental and sensory (hearing and vision) delays. She also served as Deputy Associate Superintendent at the Arizona Department of Education, and established the department’s Early Childhood Education Division.
